Hiring someone – whether a contractor or an employee is a big a decision. When you make a choice you are placing a great amount of trust in your choice. Sometimes this trust is well-placed, sometimes this trust leads to regret. While I probably can’t assuage all your doubts in a brief page on the internet I did want to take a few minutes to talk about myself so that you can understand who I am and how I can help.
My name is David Mackey. I currently own an operate a web-based startup focused on Information Technology Professionals – Informed Networker.
Prior to starting Informed Networker I was employed for nearly three years as a lead network engineer for Collages.net Inc. Collages.net is a popular workflow solution for professional photographers – offering them one-stop for event site creation (with integrated shopping cart, credit card processing, email marketing, etc.) as well as products (albums, gallery wraps, DVDs, proof books, high-end greeting cards). While at Collages.net I oversaw dozens of servers and storage arrays – managing terabytes of data and interacting with almost every facet of the system architecture – including architecting many of the solutions we implemented during my tenure.
Before working for Collages.net I was a student at Philadelphia Biblical University, where I studied Pastoral Ministries and received a Bachelors in Bible in May 2005. During my time there I also was employed for several years as a Computer Lab Supervisor and in the Information Technologies Department.
Throughout all of my teenage years and most of my childhood years I was heavily interested in computers and worked in several different positions – as a freelance webmaster, internet researcher, and hardware technician. I spent my days programming, repairing computers, and becoming familiar with multitudinous software applications.
